Producers of Allene Merlot

Located in the Rutherford Bench of the Napa Valley, Pepin Vineyard is a single vineyard of Merlot grapes which produces Allene. This perfectly well balanced wine of great character with beautiful fruit and color can be paired with almost any dish.

"Having grown up in Europe I was exposed to wines from an early age on. At special occasions, we children were poured a small glass of wine, French wines only, and eventually developed a taste by the time we were adults. In addition to wines, I was always surrounded by art and music and naturally became very involved in both, dance and music. Traveling in my teens throughout Europe first, then South America I had the opportunities to taste wines from different countries. Imagine the pleasure when I discovered California wines at the time I settled there after marriage. Married to a lawyer and sharing four children, we lived in San Francisco. When we acquired the house and small vineyard in the Napa Valley, it was eventually impossible to ignore the temptation to try my own hand at producing a wine and add another form of art to my passions."
